Liu Xuehua joined Lizhu Group Limin Pharmaceutical Factory in 2000, growing from a technician to deputy chief engineer, focusing on one thing for 20 years. This is his and Limin's story:
In 2000, after graduating from China Pharmaceutical University, I joined the Lizhu Group Limin Pharmaceutical Factory family. In 2001, the company entrusted me with the important task of researching the fingerprint spectrum of traditional Chinese medicine. Fingerprint spectrum was a very new concept at the time, and I felt a great responsibility. I contacted universities externally for research and internally for application of solutions, testing my communication and coordination abilities. Universities conduct research from an academic perspective, while application in enterprise R&D and production often resulted in comments like, "This indicator requirement is too high; we can't achieve it." This required communication and coordination with universities to ensure effective control of product quality. As one of the first practitioners of fingerprint spectrum in China, I persevered in the face of many challenges, constantly seeking advice from professors while repeatedly practicing in the company to find breakthroughs.
In 2004, at a pharmaceutical summit, we first proposed the concept of "digital traditional Chinese medicine." Using Shenqi Fuzheng injection as the research carrier and guided by fingerprint spectrum research and systems biology theory, we have been accepted by the industry and it has become an innovative concept in the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine. During this period, I presided over three improvements to the quality standards of Shenqi Fuzheng injection. The current quality standards represent a high level in the industry. In 2007, my technical team and I applied for a major breakthrough project in key areas of Guangdong and Hong Kong. During the Canton Fair, four of my colleagues and I went to Guangzhou to discuss a tripartite joint application with research institutes. To find a hotel with internet access, we went to many places, writing the proposal overnight until 4 am. We finished compiling the materials at 6 am, and after dividing the work, we submitted the materials at the last minute. Unexpectedly, we were shortlisted in first place and received over 2 million yuan in government funding.
Over the years, our team has devoted a lot of effort to Shenqi Fuzheng injection: In terms of medicinal materials, Astragalus and Codonopsis pilosula have always adhered to a pristine growing environment. To understand first-hand information, we climbed hills and mountains, discussing with local farmers to systematically study the process from seeds and seedlings, field management, harvesting, processing, and storage, while adhering to tradition. We developed corresponding standards and operating procedures to ensure the quality and batch-to-batch consistency of medicinal materials; In terms of key material control, we strictly controlled the quality of glass bottles, stoppers, aluminum-plastic caps, and activated carbon, repeatedly communicating with suppliers to identify potential flaws and develop corresponding quality control methods. Through refined management, the stability of product quality is ensured; In terms of the introduction and application of new technologies, we actively introduced ultrafiltration technology, low-temperature high-speed centrifugation and impurity removal technology, and boldly introduced mass spectrometry detection technology to further improve product quality and ensure the safety of clinical medication; At the same time, we continuously introduced new technologies, going through six revisions and two expert on-site debates to solve related technical problems. After more than eight years, we filled the gap in the domestic and international production of bagged intravenous infusions of traditional Chinese medicine.
In 2020, I was honored to receive the title of "National Labor Model" and Lizhu's "Craftsman Star." This is both an affirmation of my work and a spur, encouraging me to continue to face future work and life with a mindset of starting from scratch, maintaining my original intention, enthusiasm, drive, and perseverance, striving to be the best version of myself.
