A tuberculosis drug from a subsidiary of Healthy Yuan has been included in the WHO's recommended procurement list.

On February 14, Jiankangyuan issued an announcement stating that its holding subsidiary, Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd.'s wholly-owned subsidiary, Lizhu Pharmaceutical Factory, independently developed Kanamycin Injection, which passed the World Health Organization (WHO) PQ certification (prequalification of production) and was included in the WHO's recommended procurement list. This news was also released through an announcement by Lizhu Group.

 

Kanamycin Injection, used in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs, is mainly used to treat various forms of tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. As of February 14, 2019, Lizhu Pharmaceutical Factory had cumulatively invested approximately 6.38 million yuan in R&D for Kanamycin Injection. In 2017, the global sales of Kanamycin preparations totaled US\$61.151 million, an increase of 38.44% compared to 2016. Among them, the total sales of Kanamycin injection was US\$3.2426 million, an increase of 24.72% compared to 2016.

 

Jiankangyuan and Lizhu Group stated that the WHO PQ certification of Kanamycin Injection has opened up channels for the international market sales of Kanamycin preparations, provided strong support for the company's further expansion into overseas markets, and laid a solid foundation for the international certification of subsequent high-end preparation products.
