Chronic Disease Poverty Alleviation: Follow-up Support and Warmth

To thoroughly implement the Party Central Committee's requirements for targeted poverty alleviation, strengthen efforts in targeted poverty alleviation, and ensure that poverty alleviation work is carried out effectively, recently, a team of six people led by the Jiankangyuan Volunteer Association, with the assistance of the local government and a charity association, went to Songpan County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, to conduct follow-up work on the Jiankangyuan & Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group chronic disease poverty alleviation project.
The Jiankangyuan Volunteer Association's poverty alleviation follow-up trip was full of twists and turns. Although they encountered bad weather, roadblocks in the mountains, and altitude sickness among members, the volunteers overcame numerous difficulties, driving for more than ten hours and arriving at the poverty alleviation site in the early morning. After a short rest, the volunteers went to the Qingyun Township and Shili Township health centers in Songpan County early in the morning, checked the registration book for the distribution of medicines donated by "Jiankangyuan," inquired in detail about the medical treatment of the poor people who received the donations, and had cordial conversations with village doctors to understand the local basic medical care, public health, number of people served, new rural cooperative medical insurance reimbursement procedures, and the work and living conditions of village doctors.
It is understood that nearly 100 impoverished households in Songpan County have been using medicines donated by Jiankangyuan & Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group. The person in charge of the local government project pointed out: The health center is the primary front line for providing rural residents with treatment for common and frequently occurring diseases and basic public health services. It not only plays an important role in alleviating the problems of difficulty, high cost, and distance in seeking medical care for grassroots residents, but also needs to combine the current requirements of targeted poverty alleviation work and cooperate in the orderly implementation of health poverty alleviation projects.
After checking the situation at the health center, the volunteers immediately visited Grandma Gega, a poor household in Xiong Shan Village. Grandma Gega is 63 years old. Although she now suffers from anemia and kidney failure due to hypertension, she remains optimistic and always has a smile on her face. The volunteers were moved by Grandma Gega's optimism and simplicity, and gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the significance of the Jiankangyuan & Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group's chronic disease poverty alleviation program.
As one of the earliest pharmaceutical companies in China to engage in health poverty alleviation, Jiankangyuan & Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group will not stop its efforts in practicing "pharmaceutical poverty alleviation" and assisting in "chronic disease" relief. In the future, Jiankangyuan & Lizhu Pharmaceutical Group will regularly donate medicines to impoverished areas based on the actual situation, spare no effort in helping impoverished areas to get rid of poverty, offer health and warmth to those in need, respond to the call of the Party and the state while continuously innovating its operations, maximize its corporate social responsibility, focus on health poverty alleviation, contribute to the fight against poverty, and contribute its strength to China's targeted poverty alleviation.
