Building a Healthy Foundation for Rural Revitalization: Healthy Yuan & Lizhu Group's Chronic Disease Public Welfare Project Visits Gansu's Sunan County

On November 5th, the "Chronic Disease Public Welfare Supporting Rural Revitalization" initiative, jointly promoted by Health Yuan and Lizhu Group, reached Sunan County, Gansu Province. A donation ceremony was held in the second-floor meeting room of the County Committee Party School. Sunan County leaders Chou Shengrong, Zhang Aixia, and Fang Yuepeng, representatives from various townships, county-level units, county-level medical and health institutions, and volunteers from Health Yuan and Lizhu Group attended the ceremony.
Sunan Yugu Autonomous County, a county under the jurisdiction of Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is the only Yugu Autonomous County in the People's Republic of China. It is located in central Gansu Province and southern Zhangye City, in the middle of the Hexi Corridor and at the northern foot of the Qilian Mountains. Sunan County boasts a good ecological environment and holds an important position, serving as a crucial "green reservoir" and "lifeline" for the Hexi Corridor and even western Inner Mongolia.
Sunan County attaches great importance to the health of its people, consistently prioritizing people's health in its strategic development. It firmly adheres to the goals and requirements of "guaranteeing the basics, strengthening the grassroots, and establishing mechanisms," diligently promoting the implementation of various medical reform tasks, and further driving hospitals to improve medical quality, optimize resource allocation, and optimize hospital development paths to meet the health needs of all farmers and herdsmen in the county.
Through measures such as strengthening county-level hospital capacity building, promoting improvements in grassroots service capabilities, establishing resident health record management, and implementing family doctor contract services, Sunan County has continuously deepened medical and health system reforms, significantly enhancing the county's comprehensive medical and health service capabilities, and helping to achieve a leapfrog upgrade in people's medical and health security and health levels. In this instance, the millions of dollars worth of medicines donated by Health Yuan and Lizhu Group will be used free of charge to treat local low-income patients with chronic diseases, effectively reducing their medication burden and preventing and mitigating the risk of falling back into poverty due to illness.
In response to the overall upward trend in the incidence of various chronic diseases, the "Healthy China 2030" Planning Outline proposes the implementation of a comprehensive prevention and control strategy for chronic diseases, calling on the government, society, and individuals to participate and work together to weave a "protective net" against chronic diseases, continuously responding to the new expectations of the people for health.
Doing a good job in the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases is a crucial measure in promoting the Healthy China initiative. Since 2018, Health Yuan & Lizhu Group have launched the "Affordable Chronic Disease Prevention and Treatment Public Welfare Project." Leveraging their own resource advantages, they have continuously promoted the improvement of chronic disease prevention and treatment work through "drug donation" and "health science popularization." By the first half of 2024, the project has covered 9 provinces and 4 autonomous regions nationwide, assisting over 20,000 low-income patients with chronic diseases, with a public welfare footprint spanning Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Tibet, and other regions.
