Jiankangyuan recently received good news in the high-end segment of pharmaceutical research and development. Two of its key products have made significant progress, demonstrating the company's strong capabilities in drug R&D and providing new treatment options for patients.

On June 12, the company announced that its salmeterol/fluticasone propionate inhalation powder has received the Drug Registration Certificate issued by the National Medical Products Administration. This is an inhalation preparation used to treat asthma in adults and children, with significant therapeutic efficacy and safety. The main components of salmeterol/fluticasone propionate inhalation powder are salmeterol, a long-acting β2-agonist, and fluticasone propionate, a glucocorticoid. The combined use of these two drugs is the gold standard for asthma treatment.

According to Jiankangyuan's announcement, the cumulative R&D investment in salmeterol/fluticasone propionate inhalation powder is approximately RMB 88.9057 million. This investment not only reflects Jiankangyuan's emphasis on drug R&D but also demonstrates the company's determination and strength in product development. In addition, according to GSK's annual report, Seretide® has global sales of approximately £1.139 billion, and in the domestic Chinese market, Seretide® sales are approximately RMB 783 million.

On the same day, Jiankangyuan also announced that the domestic production drug registration application for semaglutide injection by its subsidiary, New North Jiang Pharmaceutical, a subsidiary of its holding company, Lizhu Group, has been accepted by the National Medical Products Administration. Semaglutide injection is a biosimilar mainly used for blood glucose control and cardiovascular risk reduction in adult patients with type 2 diabetes. As of the announcement date, the cumulative R&D cost of this drug is approximately RMB 141 million. In 2023, the sales of diabetes drugs in China reached RMB 34.58 billion, with GLP-1 agonist drugs accounting for RMB 6.058 billion, indicating the huge potential of this market.

With the gradual launch of new drugs, more treatment options will be provided for patients with related diseases, improving their quality of life and bringing new growth points for the company. Jiankangyuan will continue to adhere to the concept of innovation-driven development and make greater contributions to human health.
