On October 12, Jiankangyuan and Lizhu Group joined hands with the Resources County Health and Health Bureau, Resources County Red Cross Society, and Resources County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital to provide much-needed assistance to low-income patients in the county through drug donations and free clinics. The donation event was held on the first floor of the Resources County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital's comprehensive building, with the donated medicines valued at over one million yuan. Yi Zhongyou, the deputy county magistrate of Resources County and president of the Red Cross Society, representatives from the Health and Health Bureau, Resources County Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Guangdong-Guangxi Office, and other institutions, the Guangdong-Guangxi medical support expert team, and Jiankangyuan volunteers attended the event.

Resources County is located in the hinterland of the Yuechengling Mountains in the northeastern part of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It is the northern gateway of Guangxi and a county where ethnic minorities reside. Resources County was also one of the 29 counties in the national key support area for the development and poverty alleviation plan of the Dian-Gui-Qian karst rocky desertification area (Guangxi) from 2011 to 2020. Since the establishment of the new county Party committee and county government, it has deeply studied and implemented the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping's inspection of Guangxi on April 27 and his important instructions on Guilin, closely combining the actual situation of Resources, formulating a clear development plan and carrying out high-quality development. In 2021, it successfully established a national organic product certification demonstration area, an autonomous region's ethnic unity and progress demonstration county, an autonomous region's Chinese herbal medicine planting demonstration county, an autonomous region's family farm demonstration county, and the first batch of Guangxi forest understory economy demonstration counties. It was also rated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs as the third batch of national rural entrepreneurship and innovation model counties.
At the donation ceremony, Deputy County Magistrate Yi expressed gratitude on behalf of Resources County and hoped that Jiankangyuan and Lizhu would continue to support and care for the development of rural areas. A representative from Jiankangyuan stated that the company will continue to pay attention to and help low-income families, and will actively fulfill its social responsibilities by combining the company's advantages, bringing the benefits of health to more people in need.
It is understood that this free clinic was led by the Resources County Health and Health Bureau, and the medical expert team consisted of Guangdong-Guangxi medical support experts from Nanshan District, Shenzhen. The scope of the free clinic covered a number of important clinical departments, including general practice, infectious liver disease, traditional Chinese medicine, general nephrology, and internal medicine. During the free clinic, Guangdong-Guangxi medical support experts provided health consultations to local residents and prescribed prescriptions on-site. The donated materials were distributed by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, allowing them to receive professional medical services at their doorstep. This not only effectively improved the happiness and health awareness of the people in Resources County but also deepened the friendship between Guangdong and Guangxi.
It is worth noting that this public welfare activity in Resources County is not the first stop for Jiankangyuan's chronic disease public welfare program. In recent years, the country has continuously advocated the development of a health strategy. Jiankangyuan has actively responded to the national call and launched the "Inclusive Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Public Welfare Project" aimed at going deep into rural areas since 2018, providing strong support for remote areas and groups who have become impoverished or returned to poverty due to illness. It has formed its own specialized public welfare system. This action aims to stimulate and enhance the chronic disease management awareness of low-income patients in remote areas, reduce the occurrence of complications, reduce the risk of disability and death in the early stages, and simultaneously reduce the economic burden on their families and society.
Rural revitalization is not only about industrial development but also about safeguarding the health foundation of the local people. This donation event is an important step for Resources County to further consolidate its achievements and promote rural revitalization after achieving comprehensive poverty alleviation. As of June 30, 2023, the Inclusive Chronic Disease Prevention and Control Public Welfare Project has successfully covered 8 provinces and 2 autonomous regions, including 19 remote areas in need of assistance and 2 national-level nature reserves, benefiting more than 17,700 low-income people. In 2022, Jiankangyuan's cumulative donation of public welfare funds reached 12.117 million yuan.
