On December 28, 2020, the National Healthcare Security Administration and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security jointly issued the "National Catalogue of Drugs for Basic Medical Insurance, Work-related Injury Insurance, and Maternity Insurance (2020)" (hereinafter referred to as the "National Medical Insurance Catalogue"), officially announcing the list of drugs that passed the national medical insurance negotiation. Joincare Pharmaceutical Group Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Health Yuan"), its Lisutu® (Levosalbutamol Hydrochloride Nebulization Solution) passed the negotiation and was officially included in the National Medical Insurance Catalogue.
Currently, salbutamol is a commonly used emergency drug in the clinical treatment of asthma and COPD. Salbutamol is a racemic mixture, with the levorotatory isomer being its effective component. The dextrorotatory isomer not only lacks the effect of relaxing bronchial smooth muscle, but also easily induces adverse reactions such as tachycardia and hypokalemia. In severe cases, acidosis may occur. The listing of levosalbutamol not only reduces the risk of the above adverse reactions, but also significantly improves patients' lung function, reduces the risk of outpatient and inpatient visits and readmissions, and shortens hospital stays, providing patients with a safer and more effective new treatment option.
Inhaled preparations are typical complex preparations. Due to their many advantages in clinical treatment, they are varieties that the country prioritizes and encourages research and development. The domestic market in this field is rapidly rising, with broad development prospects. According to publicly available information, Health Yuan obtained the registration certificate for Lisutu® (Levosalbutamol Hydrochloride Nebulization Solution) in September 2019, and in August of this year, the 3ml:0.31mg specification was approved for a supplementary application for "children's specialized dosage form". This time, the inclusion of Levosalbutamol Hydrochloride Nebulization Solution in the National Medical Insurance Catalogue further reflects Health Yuan's high attention to the entire process of research and development, production, and implementation of inhaled preparations, as well as the recognition of its products and technologies by the state and the pharmaceutical industry.
