On the evening of December 16, the group released an announcement that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shenzhen Haibin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., received the "Drug Registration Certificate" issued and approved by the National Medical Products Administration.
The drug that obtained the registration certificate this time is named ω-3 fish oil medium/long-chain fat emulsion injection, which is a product jointly developed by Health Yuan and the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Besides foreign original research products, Health Yuan is the first domestic manufacturer to obtain a registration certificate for ω-3 fish oil medium/long-chain fat emulsion injection, and also the first domestic manufacturer to obtain approval for a fat emulsion injection product using fish oil as the main raw material!
This drug is mainly used to provide adults with fats, including essential ω-6 and ω-3 fatty acids, when patients cannot take orally, have insufficient enteral nutrition, have contraindications, or cannot be administered orally. Compared with traditional medium/long-chain fat emulsions, this drug adds ω-3 fatty acid triglyceride components, and its rich EPA and DHA can reduce the inflammatory response caused by the use of soybean oil to shorten the patient's hospital stay. In addition, the ratio of medium-chain triglycerides, soybean oil, and ω-3 acid triglycerides in this drug also has an optimized hydrolysis effect, resulting in a fast hydrolysis rate and fewer adverse reactions.
Relevant information shows that ω-3 fish oil medium/long-chain fat emulsion injection was first produced by B. Braun Melsungen AG (trade name: Lipoplus®), launched in Europe in 2004, and launched in China in 2014. Fat emulsion injections using fish oil as the main raw material also include ω-3 fish oil fat emulsion injection (Youwen®) and multiple oil fat emulsion injection (Hewen), both imported and marketed by Fresenius Kabi. According to IQVIA's sample statistical estimation data, there were no sales of domestic ω-3 fish oil medium/long-chain fat emulsion injection in 2019; the terminal sales of Youwen® and Hewen® in 2019 were approximately RMB 608 million. Health Yuan's acquisition of this drug registration certificate provides a more reliable and cost-effective option for the domestic pharmaceutical sub-market.
