The continuous snow-capped mountains, deep valleys, and dangerous roads... This is the first impression left on the Healthy Yuan & Lizhu Group volunteers in Zayu County, Linzhi City, located at the junction of the Himalayas and Hengduan Mountains in the high mountain and valley area.
In this border county, which seems like a secret realm in the eyes of the world, there are a group of Shenzhen people active—— Shenzhen's counterpart aid-Tibet medical team . They are the focus of the visit in the "Chronic Disease Poverty Alleviation in Zayu, Tibet" support program jointly launched by Healthy Yuan & Lizhu Group and Shenzhen Municipal Care Office.
During this trip, the volunteers of Healthy Yuan & Lizhu Group and Wang Ganlu, captain of the Shenzhen aid-Tibet medical team and president of Zayu County People's Hospital exchanged and discussed issues such as the population structure, etiology, and drug selection criteria of chronic disease patients in Zayu County, and presented a donation to the aid-Tibet medical team.
During the exchange, Captain Wang Ganlu sincerely told the Healthy Yuan volunteers: "Health education, standardized treatment of common and frequently occurring diseases, and training of township and village doctors to improve their medical skills, but these cannot be achieved overnight, and there is still a lot of work to be done step by step." And said: " The medicines donated by Healthy Yuan & Lizhu Group will definitely be used to the best effect. At that time, they will be combined with the existing conventional medicines in the local area, combined with the patient's own situation, to formulate a reasonable usage plan to fully exert their effectiveness."
The frontline workers of Shenzhen's counterpart support have brought about a huge change to the medical and health work in Zayu County in just a few years. According to Captain Wang Ganlu: "Before the aid-Tibet medical team came to Zayu, people basically needed to go to Linzhi City even for minor illnesses. Now they can go to the county hospital by motorcycle. The current Zayu County Hospital can even treat some diseases that city hospitals cannot treat."
In addition to improving the medical level of Zayu County Hospital, Captain Wang also pays great attention to the health awareness of the local people. During the rural medical visits, he found that the local people's health awareness was relatively weak. Since then, he has almost held training sessions for doctors and village doctors in township health centers on chronic disease treatment and standardization every time he goes to the countryside, promoting health education and popularizing knowledge of chronic diseases, such as the need for long-term medication, to help them improve their health awareness.
